One Dead in Whitehouse as Storm Causes Damage Across the City

WHITEHOUSE, Texas (KLTV) — One person has died in Whitehouse as a result of the storms that moved through Tuesday morning.

According to Smith County Fire Chief Jay Brooks, emergency crews have been working to reach the victim since roughly 7 a.m.

A resident said the fatality occurred at the Mobile Home and RV Park in Whitehouse, where a tree slammed into a man’s house. The neighbor recalled that the victim was one of the kindest people you could ever meet and that he always wore a smile.

A press conference is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.

Damage was also extensive along Tomlin Street in Whitehouse, with multiple properties affected and debris scattered in the neighborhood.
