TYLER, TX (EAST TEXAS NEWS) – East Texas agencies are once again lining up plans to condition the roads ahead of a second wave of freezing temperatures.
The Texas Department of Transportation announced that salt-brine treatments on roads in the Tyler district will begin on Friday morning. Drivers are asked to proceed with caution and give space to crews working on the roadways.
The city of Lufkin also announced that US 59 in the Lufkin district would be treated Friday morning. They said other major roads, overpasses, and bridges will be treated over the weekend and on Monday if needed.
Both entities noted that they will continue to actively monitor the weather and prepare for the incoming conditions.
