TYLER, Texas (EAST TEXAS NEWS) – Bed Bath & Beyond has published an updated list of the stores that will close this year.
The document names more than 50 stores designated for closure so far this year.
The list was included in the company’s press release on Thursday that provides details on when the second-quarter earnings results will be released.
The company announced at the end of last month that it would close about 150 stores and lay off around 20% of its workers in an effort to improve the company’s performance.
Bed Bath & Beyond has been affected by a drop in sales. It also faced the challenges that emerged during the COVID-19 pandemic, including temporary store closures and supply-chain issues, reported by the Associated Press.
As of May, it operated 955 stores, including 769 Bed Bath & Beyond locations, 135 Buybuy Baby stores, and 51 stores under the Harmon, Harmon Face Values or Face Values banners. The retailer employed roughly 32,000 people in February.
