EAST TEXAS (EAST TEXAS NEWS) – Good morning, East Texas! It’s another calm start to our Wednesday, with mostly clear skies and temperatures in the upper 60s to around 70 degrees.
Temperatures really struggled to push into the 90s at most East Texas locations yesterday, but southerly winds will be more dominant throughout the day and the abundant sunshine will make it easier to reach the 90s again this afternoon.
Thanks to the stronger influence of high pressure, skies are likely to stay mostly dry Thursday as well. The short-lived heat dome will weaken a bit by Friday, opening the door to a few showers or one or two isolated afternoon thunderstorms during the heat of the day. The chances of rain will remain limited each afternoon through the weekend and into early next week.
There are no expectations for torrential or widespread rainfall, so if it rains on any day, consider yourself lucky! Temperatures are expected to hover between the 90s and 95 degrees toward the end of the work week, but they could dip back to around 90 degrees for everyone on Sunday and Monday and Tuesday of the next week.
