EAST TEXAS (EAST TEXAS NEWS) – Good morning, East Texas, and happy Friday! We start the day with humid conditions, mostly sunny skies, and temperatures in the 70s across the area. Expect another hot, sun-filled day as temperatures rise back up to around 90°F.
Some hot spots could reach 97°F today. Heat indices will surge into the 100–105°F range this afternoon, so be sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day. There is a low chance that some parts of East Texas will see a shower or thunderstorm, though the coverage will be very limited and most won’t see a drop.
Isolated rain chances and temperatures in the 90s will persist for Saturday and Sunday, as well as for much of the coming week. The chance of some showers or thunderstorms will be slightly better on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, though coverage will still be limited, so consider yourself lucky if it rains this weekend or next week.
