EAST TEXAS (EAST TEXAS NEWS) – Good morning, East Texas! Thursday starts off calm with clear skies.
Temperatures are a touch warmer than yesterday, as most of East Texas wakes up with readings between 70 and 75°F, with only a few areas starting out above 60°F.
Sunshine and southerly winds are contributing to another hot day, with highs around 90°F for most and heat indices that can push past 100°F at times. The good news is isolated showers or thunderstorms may form in areas south of I-20 during the heat of the day, so some of you might hit the rain lottery and enjoy a brief, refreshing downpour.
Rain chances are limited and will remain possible each afternoon through Sunday, and could continue into early next week. No heavy or widespread rainfall is expected, so if it rains on any given day, consider yourself lucky!
Temperatures could climb to as high as 97°F for some on Friday and Saturday, before cooling back into the mid-90s for everyone on Sunday and into the first half of next week.
