London (AP) — Oasis said Sunday that its members are “shocked and saddened” after a man fell to his death during a band’s concert at Wembley Stadium in London.
The Metropolitan Police reported that officers and paramedics responded to reports of an injured person shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Saturday.
They indicated that a man in his 40s was found with injuries consistent with a fall and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The force urged anyone who witnessed what happened or captured footage on their phone to contact the police.
“We are shocked and saddened to learn of the tragic death of a fan at last night’s show,” Oasis said in a statement, adding “sincere condolences to the family and friends of the person involved.”
Oasis’s first tour in 16 years began on July 4 in Cardiff, Wales. Saturday’s concert was the fourth of seven planned performances at Wembley.
The stadium management said Sunday’s show would go ahead as planned.
