TYLER, TX (EAST TEXAS NEWS) – Students, faculty and staff at Tyler Junior College celebrated today the worlds of nations from around the globe during its thirtieth International Day and the university’s annual Passport Day. Guests could experience diverse cultures from around the world through music, dance, art, food, and attire. An alumna of the college returned to perform again, this time with her sister.
“We love what this celebration represents and what it brings to Tyler, and it’s important for us to participate because we believe that the small contribution we have to offer is meaningful,” said alumna Victoria Dickson.
“More than thirty countries were represented at the event.”
“I didn’t realize we had so much representation here at TJC. You know, there are a couple of countries I didn’t even know existed, so it was very— not to say overwhelming, but very exciting,” said Jesse Holguin, a first‑year student at TJC.
The United States Postal Service was also on hand to help visitors apply for or renew their U.S. passports.
