East Texas Food Bank Brings Mobile Pantry With Fresh Produce to Gladewater

November 3, 2025

TYLER, TX (EAST TEXAS NEWS) – The East Texas Food Bank (ETFB) will host a monthly mobile pantry featuring fresh produce in Upshur County on the third Tuesday of each month, from 10 a.m. to noon, beginning March 15 at the Gladewater Rodeo Grounds on Highway 80. Meat will also be available at this inaugural mobile pantry.

“Upshur County faces a great need for food assistance as 20% of residents are food insecure, including 29% of children,” said Dennis Cullinane, ETFB’s chief executive. “Studies show a direct link between good nutrition and health outcomes, so the ability to offer more vegetables and fruits will greatly benefit residents.”

The East Texas Food Bank currently operates with three partner agencies running food pantries in Diana, Gilmer, and Ore City, serving 1,500 households. There are also special programs to assist seniors with a monthly food box, and children receive food backpacks through their school. For more information about the various programs in Upshur County, visit our website at EastTexasfoodbank.org and click Find Food.

The self-serve mobile pantry is open to anyone in need of food, and there are no identification requirements.

Established in 1988, the East Texas Food Bank is the largest nonprofit hunger-relief organization in East Texas and covers 26 counties. ETFB provides more than 25 million meals each year to 200 partner agencies and feeding programs. Our mission is to fight hunger and feed hope in East Texas.
