TYLER, Texas (East Texas News) – Tyler police arrested a woman after she left her 8-week-old baby in a vehicle during a doctor’s appointment on Wednesday.

Adasia Henderson, 22, a resident of Tyler, is charged with endangering a child.

According to Tyler Police Department spokesman Lt. Andy Erbaugh, Henderson was at an ophthalmologist appointment in the 8900 block of South Broadway Avenue and said she needed to check on the baby she left in the car. The infant remained inside the vehicle for more than an hour. When she stepped outside to check on him, an office employee called police around 11:45 a.m.

When officers arrived, Henderson was feeding the baby with a bottle. Erbaugh said Henderson stated she planned to return to check on the baby while he stayed in the vehicle during the appointment.
