Tyler’s Taqueria Murder Suspect Seeks Family Attire Restrictions at Trial

September 17, 2025

TYLER, Texas (EAST TEXAS NEWS) – The defense for the man accused of fatally shooting a restaurant employee in Tyler in October 2024 is requesting that attire for relatives attending the trial be restricted.

Scotty Lee Goble, 54, of Frost, is charged with fatally shooting Heriberto “Eddie” Ramírez in front of Junior’s Taqueria, where Ramírez worked.

Relatives have attended hearings and stood in front of the courthouse wearing shirts in support of Ramírez. Goble’s bond was revoked after he was caught confronting two Ramírez relatives who were wearing those shirts after a hearing.

On Friday, in court, the defense argued that the shirts were prejudicial attire. The state attorney’s office said it would speak with the family.

District Judge Debbie Gunter ruled that she would not grant the motion and that she would rather handle each issue on a case-by-case basis.

Goble’s trial is scheduled for August 25.
